Default Waterlogged? Hooked Hull? Please Help

2004 29' Baja Outlaw T496 Mags. I just purchased this boat and am noticing the bow seems to be sitting very low while cruising 35 MPH and up. I am trimming up both drives about half way and can feel the boat come out of the water so I now they are working. But the angle from inside of the boat and from out side looks like the bow is very low in the water and pushing through instead of riding on above. Also I notice that cruising in around 35-40 MPH when I trim the drives the bow starts to bounce up and down as if it was hitting a constant wake, but this will occur on the calmest of water conditions. Any advice. I had someone mention that it could be waterlogged or the hull could be Hooked? Not even sure what that means. The hull looks to be in great condition. Any suggestions or comments would be ver helpful.

It's easy to check for a hook. Put a straight edge on your hull at the transom.

Thanks for the info. Judging by the picture I take it I would need a long straight edge to run at least 10-15 feet. Are these Hollows essay to spot a an inch or two gaps? If thats the case can it be fixed? Thanks again.

The picture isn't to scale and is greatly exaggerated. You really only need to pay attention to the last 3 or so feet. Hooks can be subtle enough that you can't really see them without a straight edge. One cause is your transom hanging off the bunks on your trailer.

I doubt you really have a problem with a hook. I suspect that you are not trimming correctly or enough. Also, at 35mph you are not really moving fast enough for the bow to really ride on top of the water. Try upping the speed and trimming out farther. You will notice that the boat may start to porpose a little as you trim out but if you keep trimming out you will notice that it will settle down and at some point you will feel the bow lift. Just a suggestion before you start panicking. My old Baja required a lot of trim. Good luck..

Let's look at what props you are running. The factory liked to put 3 blades on everything. The boats like 4 blades much better. You could have a prop that is lifting the stern thus pushing the bow down.

Thanks again. It does happen at high speed as well and I have trimmed up all most full. But at high speed it seems a little dangerous as if in the righ condition the bow would go so low as to be submerged in the right wake. I just realized now when i bought the boat in the winter it was sitting on a trailer and was hanging off the least a foot. It was like that for at least 5 months. If this is the case can it be fixed?
