Ive got an older 24 x 7, Sunsation Rocket 24....
Bought the boat last year this time... it came with whats supposedly a 500HP gen iv BBC. Motor runs really good, strong, smooth at speed, and nasty idle...
Ive tried 2 props soo far with decent results... Ive just gotten some more input on really trimming the boat out and getting the bow up, so still learning the boat and the below results may even get better with more seat time...
Original prop that came with boat - Bravo1 26p
Originally got 72mph @ 4900RPM, before learning how to really trim her out and I had all kinds of chine walk, with bow down and transom lifting...
Once I talked to some more ppl and started to really work the trim at speed I ended up getting...
72mph @ 5300RPM, but feel like maybe theres still some more there with a touch more trim. Ive seen as high as 5500RPM with this prop, but didnt have my GPS speedo on, so who knows...
This was with a very little chine walk depending on conditions, but still just enough at times to back off a touch... Mid range obviously great and hole shot is nice.
Borrowed prop (thanks to another fellow OSO member!) - Mirage+ Plus 25p
72mph @ 4900RPM, with no chine walk... Mid range a little higher RPMs for same speed and coming up on plane a little longer.
Id really love to see 75 out of the boat, but looking for a great all around prop and have read over and over how great the Revolution 4 prop is... I think Tomas_wallin, Dave M, Flying Tomato, etc... Best part is one of my best friends can get one for me at dealer cost...
With my little bit of info above, what size Rev4 would you guys recommend??
What other props would be suggested?
Thanks guys....

Thanks for the reply man... Not that I have much a choice since theres nothing bigger, but if Im already turning B1 to 5300+, hope im not pushing my motor too far. 454bbc supposedly "full roller" should be able to handle it though, correct?

We have the Revolution 4 props for testing and can adjust the props to perform better than stock once a baseline is established.

Finally got some more testing in....

Bravo1 26p again with just myself, tools, and approx 1/3 to 1/2 tank of gas...
74mph @ 5400RPM - boat ran smooth with no chine walk...
Ran that going north on the bay.... was running a good 72 and just played with the trim a touch more and it held that 74 mph decent once set.
Spun it around and ran south on the bay and watched it at 74 again for a few seconds, shut it down and started the camera app on my phone and ran her again... afterwards I checked the GPS app and it showed a max of 78 mph and I hadnt done anything different, so im chalking that up to GPS anomaly or something.... Cant see how itd take quite a bit of messing around with the trim to get another 2 mph, but then it jumped another 4 mph so easily!

Thanks for the reply Brett... Do you think my best option would be to try the Rev4 25p or maybe step up to a Bravo1 28pitch?
Thanks a lot!
Or anyone else have input on this??

First, what rpm do you ultimately desire to be at when running WOT?
The current slip % 14 with this prop. This is a touch high but most certainly not out of line. Sunsation's ideally like Bravo 1 props with a touch of additional rake angle added. To much and they can chine walk. Depending on the rpm desires, a Labbed 28 Bravo 1 might be the best choice.
If Labbing isn't in your desires, and again depending on the rpm goal, testing the Revolution 4 and the 28 B1 are smart options.
You can test these propellers with us without having to purchase a propeller. You simply pay a $45 test fee and are able to keep the propeller for 15 days to obtain base line information that will direct us to the best option including Lab recipe adjustments as are needed.
Let me know your thought. Or you can call me and we can go deeper into the set up options.

I tried just about every prop available on a 1988 Rocket, the older Rockets had a much smaller pad than the later model Rockets and Agressors, A 3 bladed Turbo by Hydromotive did the trick for me in both speed and handling, the worst a was a Bravo I 4-blade, an otherwise excellent prop on many other boats, but it was downright scary on a early Rocket.

I'm not aware of a 3 blade Hydromotive named a Turbo. Turbo is a brand within itself.
The Bravo Labbed at 14.75" diameter will work great on this hull. Testing everything you can get your hands on is the best way to find what works for you and your specific hull.
Remember, every identical hull is different.

Turbo was the name of a 3-bladed prop from Hydromotive, I don't know if they make them any more but you might be able to get one from Hydromotive, contact "hec2buck" on here, he is Hydromotive.
