Need to know if the oil pump pickup tube out of a 8.1L Volvo is the same as a 8.1L Merc. I had my engine rebuilt and the shop threw away my old pump and tube. Cannot order the tube only from merc. So i'm trying to find a used one. Thanks.

Not sure about them being the same, but you may want them to put a tack weld on the tube before it goes in. My builder just did that because he has had them disconnect in the past. 5 minutes to save a engine is worth it. Good luck.

use a chrome moly oil pump drive shaft too, the stocker is junk...rm
