And I forgot to mention in the story that photographer Jay Nichols will be there again to bring home all the action.

Matt,
What is the specator number? I know more than 2500. Think probably a typo. I have heard that visitor numbers have surpassed those for the 4th. of July holiday weekend. This would put numbers several digits higher. The Lake Cumberland Poker Run has a huge economic impact on the area. The business people here are very thankful for those who come to attend.

Anyone have any ideas of where I could find a room.... Just call the state park resort and they are full. I'm thinking of getting a small crew and running my scorpion.

Left off a zero at the end there, sorry about that. Fixed now.

The run reportedly attracts 25,000 spectators. which would put it at or near the top—in terms of on-site viewing—of high-performance powerboat events around the country.
