Default covering up the old clarion head unit holes

Well my I am sick of my clarion working only when it wants to so I am tossing it. I was wondering what people did to cover the holes from the clarion as I am going to a single din. I have holes from the original clarion head unit and the current one which is smaller than the original. I thinking I could just use an aluminum plate and polish it up, but wanted to check here and see if anyone had anything better than that!

I'm just thinking a plate of some sort to cover it vs filling and shooting them. I guess I should clarify, the screw holes from the old radios.

This is what they did on my last boat. Notice the piece of plastic under the stereo cover. I was thinking the same idea with maybe polished aluminum or something.

Go on Ebay and get some colored acrillic that will match a color on your boat. Make a plate out of it.

I made a plate out of stainless (.060 or so). Didn't polish it, but you could, or brush it, or paint it.

Travis, this was on my 260 as I got the plate from a friend. Need to upgrade headunit on my 302 and will probably have the same issue as you when its done.

What I had on mine as well Keith. I could make one again if I had dimensions.
