Default Exhaust Elbow Leak

Saw a little water bubbling out from the exhaust elbow gasket, how easy is the change out? Simple do it yourself, or take to the mechanic? 1997 HP500, mercruiser exhaust, with the Gil Risers. Motor rebuilt in spring of 2011, (new gaskets). Looks like replacing 23 & 26 in pic.

Thanks in advance.

Hopefully the moisture you are seeing is just from the condensation collected on the turbulator (part 26) and not from reversion as those are dry joint manifolds/risers. You should only need the two gaskets (part number 23).

Will get the gaskets ordered, thanks Knot 4 me.

Any silicone required, or just the clean surfaces?

No silicone . Just clean and assemble . Make sure riser bolts are good and tight , I don't know the torque specs , so as not to blow another gasket .

You want to make sure you re-torque the riser stubs after a few hours of running just to be on the safe side.
