This past spring I sold my Formula 292 which was boathouse kept in Ontario. In considering what to replace it with, I thought it might be fun to try a center console for a change. I looked closely at the 29’ Nor Tech CC that DoubleR displayed at the Toronto boat show and loved it. Many wondered why I did not go in that direction knowing of the special relationship I have developed with Nor Tech and DoubleR Performance over the years. I had to rule out the Nor Tech as it’s height and beam would not fit the boathouse without some major renovations.
My mind went to the four Renegades that run with our FMO club in SW Florida and the two I saw on the BVI poker run. Taking a closer look, I found with it’s lower profile and 8’ beam, the 32’ Renegade would nicely fit in the boathouse. After talking to Renegade owner and FMO club member Paul Perzyk, I made a plant visit and was comfortable enough to lay down a deposit and get the build started. That was on May 14th and took delivery on Friday Sept. 6th, just 3 1/2 months later. It would have been ready sooner but for a number of custom features I had built into the boat.
Since the boat is in Florida, I will rack store it on Marco Island for the winter and get some use with it there and bring to Canada next spring. We have some beach runs with FMO planned and will be perfect for that and be available if Team PREDATOR goes back to the Caribbean this winter. The Donzi will likey be put away for the winter in ON and am giving thought to offering it for sale at some point.
Renegade was outstanding when it came to listening to what I was looking for in a boat and what they would do to make it happen in a timely way. The quality of the finishes and workmanship were top notch and I am more than satified. They are a small, family owned business in Miami ( Hialeah ) and I found them to be honest, hard working people offering an excellent product at a very reasonable price. Thank you Manny Sr. and Jr; Nery, and all the good people that took pride in building a new boat for “Bobthebuilder”.

Here are a few pics that I took a few days ago. Jay will be doing a photoshoot of the boat in the near future and we will get them posted eventually.

They are finishing up a 3 man bolster to give me a second row of seats. The standard seating in the back was too low in my opinion to give the back seaters a good view of what's happening ahead. Rather than hold up delivery, I elected to let them drive over to Marco with it and install next week. I took delivery Friday in Miami and ran down to the Keys overnighting there and then running north to Marco on Saturday. Boat is safely in its rack on the Island.
