I have friends that successfully use Moth Balls, very effective.

Get some birds. It worked for an old lady with a spider issue.

Spray Ortho Home Defense Max (Home Depot Carries it) in and around the outside perimeter of your boat and spiders won't go near it. If your boat is on a trailer, then spray that too. If it's at the dock, then spray that too. Try NOT to spray it into the water, as it is harmful to marine life. Ever since I started spraying my boathouse every few weeks, I haven't seen a spider OR the dreaded spider poop on my boat! NOTE: The instructions and label claim that it lasts up to 12 months, but it's best to do follow-up treatments every two to three weeks for better results due to the higher infestation of spiders that seem to be near the water.

+1 I spray the dock and all my lines every 3 weeks and around the rub rail after the last wash befor I leave for the week and have no spiders on the boat all year...
