Default 496 cam suggestions

Recently purchased a very low hour Scat 4340 forged crank and 4340 H beam rods to build a 496 out of my Gen V 454. Also went with some new Dart iron eagles with inconel exhaust valves. Goal is 550hp. Do you guys think a crane 741 roller cam would match up well with this? Here is what I have below:

EMI thunder exhaust w/ 16 inch SS risers reduced water
Performace carbs 850 CFM Marine double pumper
Weiand stealth dual plane intake
DUI distributor
Above reciprocating assembly w/ forged pistons
Melling HV oil pump
All ARP hardware
Dart Iron eagle 308's w/ stainless intakes and inconel valves. Compression will be right at 9.5:1

Seems like the 741 is well revered by the 502 crowd. Obviously it's probably not ideal, but I'm working with a budget and would prefer to avoid spending cash on a custom cam if possible. If I do, Bob M will be my choice. Just bought a house, so money is tight. Thx!

the 741 cam should work well with that combination, some will disagree, but i would go with a single plane intake.i did a similar setup but used a slightly smaller cam, just to be safe we welded a ss pipe about 8 inches long to the inside of the risers to prevent reversion.give bob m a call and see what he thinks.

Hey thanks for your input. My only hesitation in running a single plane intake would be that my carb is an 850 CFM. Wouldn't a single plane require more carb everything else being equal? I might have BOB M grind me something similar to the 741 as the crane cam is about $490 just for the cam. Bob can do the cam and gear for less than that.
