It’s just 4 weeks until we will have our opener for the upcoming 2013 /14 FMO season. It will be a run up to the beauitiful beach at Cayo Costa for the day with a visit to Cabbage Key or Barnacle Phill’s on the way. The usual roll call along with full details of the event will be circulated 10 days in advance.
A reminder to please keep your club dues up to date. We operate on a calendar year basis so we ask you to renew your membership prior the end of the year. To avoid a year end rush around the time we are all busy, it is club policy that anyone either joining or renewing between now and year end, their membership will be good thru until Dec 31, 2014. To renew, just go to our wesbsite at www.ftmyersoffshore.org and click on “Membership”. There you will see the various types of memberships and can all be easily done online including payment. If you prefer to mail your application in, you can find the application form pdf at the top of the same page. There is no change in membership fees.
Safety. Just a reminder as we go into the new season to boat safely and reponsibly showing respect for your fellow boaters and the boating public around us. I am proud of the way our membership has conducted itself in the past and look for the same good practices to continue. How many boat clubs do you know of that do not need a list of rules as long as your arm? I can’t think of any but FMO.
Insurance. Just a reminder that to boat with FMO, insurance coverage is mandatory with no exceptions. Eric Belisle has graciously volunteered his time keep track of this, so lets be pro active and make sure we keep Eric up to date with our info. If your policy has renewed since last provided, be sure to pass along to Eric your current info. He may be e mailed at [email protected] . Alternatively please feel free to send to me and I will pass it along to him.
FMO party at Hard Rock Cafe in Key West, Friday November 8th from 6 till 9 PM is confirmed. Take in the race boats on display on Duval Street right in front of the Hard Rock after dinner. Don & Amanda Gardner have completed arrangements for FMO members to have dinner and or just come by for drinks. I will provide complete details including menu and costs followed by a roll call by way of a separate e mail in the next week or so.
Your FMO Board of Directors,
Bob, Stan, Hans, Don, Eric, John and Bill
