Default My Little girls.

My first boat was a 23ft bow rider back in 1999 and man was I hooked on boating. In 2000 my daughters were born (twins) and life got really busy so I got rid of the boat and although I missed boating my girls were more important to me. Life went on and in 2006 I bought another boat (a 25ft outlaw) and by now the girls were old enough to enjoy it with me, going out for dinner in it, tubing, etc. Well, I bought a bigger boat last year (39 Outerlimits), my daughters love it, and I knew some day they would be old enough to help me out with docking and bumpers etc. I am happy to say that day came last weekend when just the 4 of us (they brought a friend) took it for a ride to the inner harbor in Baltimore and man daddy couldn't be more proud. So here's to my little girls...

It's a proud moment when you are able to pass on something you are passionate about. My 12 year old son is a crucial part of us launching and docking. He loves driving too.

Cool story. My 17 year old girl was raised in offshore boats. A very proud dad myself.

That's awesome! My eight year old daughter is better around the docks than my wife. It is so cool being able to share this sport with our kids!

It's great getting them involved and that they enjoy it.

You may have already done it, but please be sure to go over with them to keep their hands and feet out from between the boat and the dock at all times. My seven year old nephew who loves to help do everything, got his hand in the wrong place a couple weeks ago and got a smashed thumb at PIB between a sailboat and the dock. It was so bad they choppered him to Toledo for surgery that night and was a wake up call to everybody to be more cautious doing something we usually take for granted.

Cool story, that's quite a step up from a 25 outlaw to a 39 Outerlimits. Randy

Love it!! I was raised on these also, my parents tell a story about how when i was a young kid we went out to watch fireworks one night. They said when the fireworks started instead of me watching i pulled out the bottle of cleaner and started wiping down the seats!! I can't wait till mine are able to do that. Have a 2 1/2 son and 1 yr old daughter. The other day I was cleaning up the boat and was wrapping up a dock line to stow it and my son picks up a dock line and starts trying to wrap it around his arm like I was doing. Turned into him wrapping it around his whole body and handing me the end saying here daddy!! Love the fact at 2 1/2 he is already giving it a shot!! Hopefully the girl follows suite. Congrats!!
