got this crazy wiring problem on my 10meter.i have two electric fuel pumps.one for each motor.they are wired on a toggle switch at the helm.i am getting power from the battery sending to the toggle then back to the fuel pump.my grounds are tied to the negative side of each battery.the pumps run fine.but when I turn on my dash lites and only the dash lites the pumps run even with the switches off....crazy.any thoughts?thanks all.

You should install relays to power the pumps instead of powering through the toggle switch. There is likely an extreme amount of voltage loss by the time it gets back to the pumps and that switch is your only fuseable link. I would suspect that when you do this, your current problem will go away.
