Default Wind noise

I recently purchased a Checkmate 253 with a Supercharged 502 with headers. At cruising speeds I can not hear my motor at all because of the low windshield and wind noise in my ears. Any tips for dealing with this. My previous boats had taller windshields and I cold hear any slight deviations in RPM while trimming, jumping waves, etc.

I can barely hear my motor too. I watch the gauges and Smartcraft. Every now and then I duck my head down below the fairing and I can hear it.

Running headers with no mufflers now. I could possibly run straight pipes up through the swim pad

I have to see the rest of the set up. They are water cooled all the way up to the tips but the stick straight up. What gives?

Sometimes I wear a wide tennis headband to protect my ears. It doesn't work all that great but it helps. I can always hear my engine but I'm concerned about hearing damage. On cooler days I use a wind screen so it's not a concern then.
