Is there a way of decifering the hin so I can tell what the boat actually is?

I have a '76 mag 27' sport ......Hin # should be stamped upper right corner of transom........mine reads, MAG273410476

This one reads XMPR37430276

Just ran the hin.
Apparently this thing is IMP boats
Not sure if it's any good or not.

IMP made a copy of a 27 Squadron XII ...very similar to Magnum hull.

My Dad had one with 340 Mopars on Volve 270 drives. It was Purple and faster than heck. Very light.

Look under, or inside the dash there will be a build number like 311 or 367-A in magic marker that will give us a idea when it was built, if it's a Mag. The pic I posted is my Sedans number 267-A.
