I have an 2008 350 mag / Bravo 1 and wanted to know anything that should be checked per Mercury Marine 100 hour Service, I purchased the Boat about a year ago with 42 hours on it, change oil then with Mec oil ,then at 55 hrs switch to Royal Purple at 70 hour Changed Oil again and change the Drive to the Torco( We were going on a 500 mile trip). Here's what I did last year;
Engine Oil / Filter Change been running Royal Purple 10W-40 HPS full synthetic , this has high level of Zinc/ Phosphorus
Cool Fuel filters
Sea Pump
Bravo Drive Oil change Using Torco SOG 75W-90 full synthetic
Flush with Antifreeze
What Else should be done ? I have 130 hours on it and pulling it out for the season next week?
Thanks !

May I suggest that you have the engine alignment checked. I purchased a 2000 Cobalt with less than 300 hours this past summer 7.4 mpi with a Bravo 3. RAN BEAUTIFUL (63mph) until the drive spline sheared off. What we think happened was the prior owner - for some silly reason decided to mess with the alignment bolts and thru the engine out of alignment. It doesn't take much to knock the alignment out and let me just say I would have rather spent the money on a short vacation rather than at the marina.

if you have the metal canister inline fuel filter attached to the fuel line coming out of the gas tank, change that also. Merc OEM inline metal canister filters are junk as they break apart internally, filtering nothing. Seen many bad right out of the box.
The Mallory Marine filter is a better filter. This filter is actually per say for the boost fuel pump around a 60 to 100 micron rated filter. Your app might not use this inline filter depending on how your cool fuel / fuel pumps are set up. Next check your gimbal ring 2 pinch nuts (bravo nuts / u-bolt ) to make sure its at the proper torque spec.
Alignment for engine and drive is wise to check once a year plus then you can grease your drive splines (coupler side). Also if your gimbal bearing is still the greasable with jerk fitting, grease that while the drive is off. Mercruiser started the non greasable gimbal bearing I think around 2008.
Also check rotation of the gimbal bearing itself with your fingers (it should be very smooth rotation). Also look for any standing water or gear oil in your U-joint bellows. Next check the condition of the u-joint bellows for any cracks, holes, dry rot. Use new gasket set when reinstalling the outdrive.
