Default Mechanical trim indicator push rod installation? How to do?

The push rod (merc part # 845129) on one of my outdrive mechanical trim indicator units is bent. Must have been installed out of alignment when drive was rebuilt. I have a new part in hand, but can't find instructions as to removing and replacing it. The end of the plastic push rod appears to be threaded. Does it screw out or does the unit have to be disassembled? Thanks!

(Bravo XR with stock mechanical indicators)

That diagram is about all i have been able to find. Can't figure out how to get the rod out. Looks like whole unit has to be disassembled.

I don't know how the plastic rod can be bent????? Either way, you have to take the entire assembly apart to replace it.

Thanks! Had the drive rebuilt a few months ago and looks like the mechanism was clamped on a bit out of alignment. The push rod was bent over the top of the Cup-trim actuator. I noticed my indicator was working intermittently, the not at all.

Just take the back nut off and everything will slide out. Do it with the drive up so there is no pressure on the rod.
