Nort,
I wouldn't count out Scott and Tommy in the Fountain that used to be "nada chance"--now it's called "gotta chance" . They just had the motors rebuilt by Pfaff, and I think they have Carlos Cassini (not sure name is right) the World record holder in tow.
I'll see you there

I'll put my money on Stephen Robertson/Leroy Schneider. He's the current world champion and after finishing 2nd twice, he's due. Leroy's 39 Thoroughbred is awesome, the only one you'll see in the race.
Semper Fi - Your friends are towing Carlo Cassa - he's the world record holder for the race at 52 minutes 4 seconds behind Leroy's Thoroughbred. They've gotta a good chance - he hasn't raced the last 2 years.
What about the women - Ashley Lathrop is not racing this year due to injury, I think Tracy Graziano might repeat. Also, keep an eye on Lori Dunsmore and Kurt Schoen in the mixed doubles class. Their going for the world record. They should haul ass.
This has gotta be one of the best events of the year. 100 plus offhsore boats hauling ass wth skier in tow. I was too lazy to tow my boat down from Havasu, so I'll be kickin it at the hotel. If anyone else is gonna be there, we should hookup for some cocktails or if someone wants to pick me up for a ride, that would be sweet..

DYTMAGIC,
Thanks...I've got the easy job and all I really need to worry about is staying inside the boat!! We're really just doing it for fun and will be happy to finish a ittle bit faster this year than last year.
I was down in Long Beach earlier today and it's starting to get busy down there....
