Default 5500 Top Kick van on ebay

Sydwayz posted a link of this van the other day. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GMC-Other-GM...US_Cars_Trucks

Sure got my interest as it would be great for hauling bikes and would tow the Cigarette just fine. Can't seem to stop looking at it but seems to me it's overpriced by 10k, given the mileage at 98K and 10 yrs old. What's it really worth?

Yeah, been thinking about buying a van for my vintage motorcycle business and really could use a tow vehivle upgrade. This might work real well. I'd be in for 18k or so but think the seller is a bit out of touch with reality. ...or is this thing really worth close to 30k???

Anyone know what company does these conversions?

Why go through all that work with a gasser vs. starting with a duramax?

Didn't you read the listing? It gets mid double digits mpg towing 2 SuperBees in an enclosed trailer, why would anyone want diesel when you have a magical 8.1?

Remember where Kurt lives. It's butt ass cold up there. Gassers tend to start better in that kind of environment. even with block/oil heaters.
I think you are right Kurt; he's at least $7K too high.

Given what you want to do with it though, I'd think a regular height van would be better. It looks like it would be a PITA to get bikes up in that thing. They make AWD 3500 GM vans.

Also, hauling bikes filled with gas, even a little bit left in the in the base of the tank dribbling through the carbs will drive you out of an enclosed vehicle, if not loopy or cause an accident. I found that out when I bought an outboard for the Mini-Hawk and hauled it home with my Tahoe.

All said though, if I had to live in a VAN down by the RIVER...

... it would be THAT van!
