Default gm marine partnumbers

Have any of you info how to get a GM marine part number from a 2000 5,7L vortec engine ,its a long block I,m looking to order at our GM supplier here in Europe.
There seems to be a huge price difference between Mercruiser and GM marine ,are there any listings available that Merc or Volvo /Crusader are using to order at GM ?

Thx A.J

What I,m after is a list from GM marine that tells what engine I need ( 2000 longblock 5,7L vortec ) for example Merc,s partnumber is : 862760A2 $ 6200 if I can order through a GM source overhere ,this engine is problably 1/2 price,or less than that , My source said they can order any part from GM but I need to come with the right part number .
It would be nice to see what partnumbers are on the Plastic boxes when they arrive at Mercury ...

Your going to have to work through a US dealer- those part numbers are not available to the general public. I had a catalog in my hands and didn't take one at Woodward dream cruise Try calling these guys..http://www.wolfiesenterprises.com/5700basev.htm

I,m trying to buy a new engine here in Europe ,just a long block 5,7 vortec, I know I can get them in the US, but a source at GM Europe can order any GM part/engine at the best prices, and includes transport.
Thats why I,m after a list that tells me what sort engine I need and with a GM partnumber ,he said he cannot help me with a partnumber because he has no reference list for marine ,for cars they use a vin code system to find what they need ,but not for marine .

There is only 1 gm crate motor that would fit your needs that is http://www.crateenginedepot.com/57-L...P9443C718.aspx

GM part number 12530283

the only other one is not a four bolt main.

5.7 vortec were only used from 1996 - 2000 and are good engines. no warranty if used for marine use

2 bolt main part number is 12530282

looks like your parts guy does not want to get involved with choosing parts for you

Thats right ,he said those lists for marine engines are complicated ,thick as a phonebook and does not work like cars with their vin numbers ,for a single 350 there were like hundreds of numbers with marginal explenation of what is is ... according to him .
I doubt that the number you see at these crate engines is a GM partnumber .. but this is not a marine engine so could be ..
