Have the roadster at pier57 under contract, haven't owned a cat before but have 20+ yrs of boating experience. This is a really big jump for me in terms of horsepower and length, can anyone give me advice, what to look out for etc.?
I plan on taking tres Martin ha
The boat will primarily be used for port hopping on Lake Michigan, crossing from west michigan to Chicago, running up to traverse, Milwaukee, beaver island, etc. etc. I am very experienced on Lake Michigan, I'm mostly concerned with the transition to cat hulls from v
Where do the 4400's porpoise? Wouldn't just trimming the bow down control that until you pull out of it? At what wave height does the 4400 become uncomfortable? What's their max tolerance?
With 1075s what's the top end and cruise on this?
Thanks in advance, pardon the ignorance!

Ryan,
Feel free to contact me for accurate and true information. I was involved in the rebuild last year, it was done at a respectable local shop done right. I have 2 videos of the boat running from 0-130's, let the video tell the truth about the propoise/hop. It can be driven thru easy with some seat time. I moved from many years in a V to this cat with no issues. In some ways its easier to drive, take your time learning the boat. Been on Lake Michigan in "Lake Michigan 4's-6's running 60-90 mph and it was a blast!!! Mind you I had an experienced cat driver operating the throttles. The 850-1075 conversion is simple. The boat has the correct 1075 ECU's on it, not "reprogrammed" 850 ECU's, again done right. Lastly it will do 130 all day long, with a gear change the boat has upper 140's in it no problem. At 130 it's only making about 7-8lbs of boost due to running at 70ish percent throttle. Talk to Scott about the exhaust, it can be done far less than 20k, plus the headers on it are worth good money. The 44 Roadster can still be bought new. NT offers a 40 and a 52 which are a world apart. MTI and Skater own the mid 40's cat market, it's a wise business choice on behalf of NT. Also, this hull has had some of the updates done to it.
PM me for my contact info if you want to know anything else. I'm on my 3rd Nortech and I love them!!! Good luck!!!
