It's my turn to run through the pain/satisfaction of rebuilding the ass of my boat. Check out the pics. You can see just how rotted the exhaust hole is. The 5" tip was put in from the inside and just sealed on the outside. The exhaust flowed through the stock swim platform that has been chopped up as well. I'll post more pics this weekend. What you see here even had mold growing within it, nasty stuff.

I'm starting this thread just to share my experience and to bounce a few questions around when I get stuck on something. I've saved so many threads to walk to through this and there is one particular video on youtube that breaks this down pretty well also. Here are some pics of the outside. I'm removing the wrap the PO had on it. Looks pretty good but the graphics went over the swim platform which is now gone. need to figure out how to continue them around the back.

Now would be a great time to patch up those old exhaust holes, and run a traditional style thru hull setup with 4 holes.

That's exactly the plan. I'm ditching that old set up.

I hope so too.

I plan on using 1.5oz CSM, 1708 biax, cabosil, .25" chopped strand, vinyl resin and two layers of .75" ply. This isn't the schedule, it's the list of what I will be using. Can somone recommend how much how much material to order for the job?

for the transom and stringers I would start with a five of VE and roughly twenty five yards of 1708. For CSM 1.5 oz is all you need and you will need approx 8 to 10 yards. you may also want to grab a roll of eight inch tab tape, its a cheap time saver.

You can get a more accurate estimate by measuring everything off and a little math. This is roughly what the layup will consist of (pic), stringers have minimum two layers and two or three layers of tabbing alternated in pending on how heavy you want it. With a good VE and a well balanced (not saturated wet) resin ratio you dont have to over build.
