I have read many stories on this site about high end boats being stolen and talk of a lojak type system to track them , but nothing reall seemed available. Well I have recently found a device made by a company called a ZUBIE KEY. I bought a couple of these things and I have to say it is pretty cool . I installed one on my 16 yr olds car so I can see where and what they are up to and it allows me to see on a map in real time speed and location, This thing plugs into the diagnostics port inside the car and uses cell towers to track it and also will notify you if there are any engine alarms present or if the vehicle has moved outside its allowed boundery and notify you on your smart phone/ipad. the only bad thing is it doesn't work on a laptop or pc.. So I think this would do the trick just figure out the power pins on the device wire it to the battery and tuck it in to the wiring harness so its hidden, and then happy hunting and head cracking if it should be stolen. the thing cost 119.00 for a year and you reup it yearly for a hundred bucks. I got both of mine for about 30 percent off with a coupon code I found so just an idea that may work . I will put one on my boat once I get it ready for spring

Yeah they are small and you can use them in anything. When I pull my truck out of driveway it texts me and says your truck has left your safe zone and is traveling this way at this speed . It's all real time. I even put it in my teens backpack once and instead of football game she was with some friends at tenis court so when I called her to see how game is she was surprised to see me at tennis courts two miles away . Haha. Caught and grounded....

There is also a couple hard wired versions out there typically uses for things like heavy equipment. Wire it to the batteries and hide it out of site.
I have to side with Velocity though, on the favorite car a good thing, on the boat, want to make sure they have plenty of time to get far away...
