Default 7.3 oil pans

What are you guys doing with the rusting leaking oil pans to fix it short of pulling motor to fix? Mine is not leaking yet but is badly rusting and flaking off and I have painted it earlier.

2 choices pull the motor or cut the crossmember if you're good. And only if you're a talented welder/fabricator. Problem with pulling the motor is you end up doing manifolds, oil cooler, up pipes etc

their is another way...i had to show up the guys at the dealer..remove fan and shroud,,remove the core support bolts and the first front cab bolts,,loosen the rear cab bolts,,loosen the trans mount bolts..raise the truck on the lift and set it on the locks..after you remove all the oil pan bolts and starter and motor mount bolts and when you jack the motor up and the trans hits the hump it will lift the cab with the engine enough to clear the trans and the pan falls out..make sure you have a strong engine jack...or you can jack the cab up first and put 4x4 between the cab mounts..watch the brake ang trans lines and ac hose's tho..i loke to do it all at once to keep from breaking lines ..

There is a local guy in Buffalo that will do 7.3 oil pans for $750. He lifts the motor. When mine goes I will cut and weld my crossmember.
