Default HP500 Carbed, RPM, Cam Question

I am aware that the factory limiter comes in at 5350-5400.

My question is if the RPM was not limited at that point would the stock cam,169611, continue to pull from there and if so how much more? At what RPM will it fall off?

Thanks,
Mark

They are still making power at 5300, anything after that it starts to drop off. I propped mine to spin 5400 rpm and I run it there quite frequently. I run a different ignition so I'm not sure where the stock rev limiter came in at. I thought it was 5250, but just hold that as internet gospel as I have no proof of that. On one cold day this fall when it was running really good I bumped the rev limiter up to 5600 and it ran 5500 rpm. Probably just making noise at that point, and hard on the valve train. Might have went 1mph faster
