So I sold the Velocity back in December and I only went about 2 weeks and this one fell into my lap. I wasn't even looking, but I am a member of the Concept Boats Facebook Page. I have been in love with Concepts since I saw one about 5 years ago. Anyway OSO member Pete280 posted a video of his 2001 Concept out on the water and said he had it up for sale. Well I jumped on it and after all the paper work was done, took delivery of my 2001 Concept 30 PF w/2006 Optimax 225s. The boat needs some cosmetic work to get it to my standards, but as you can see by the pics I am off to a good start. Our first trip will be to Cedar Point right after Memorial Day and I am sure there will be a few PIB trips thrown in this year. Our Velocity 260 ran across Erie great, but we had to really get the right weather. Granted the Concept is not a monster, I am sure the extra hull will help us get across Erie when the wind kick up (as it always does).

Nice boat Brad, if you need any help on anything with it, feel free to give me a call, not sure if you still have my number, if not I will pm it to you. I did a ton of work to my concept this past year. I still love my concept but am focusing more of my time and interest on the other boat.

Yes, it has a small cuddy. Basically enough to lay down and sleep in. Which is all I really need. It has a full length cover that snaps under the rub rail, so That can always be put on and brought back past the helm to extend the sleeping quarters or privacy a bit when overnighting. I have been wanting a boat with Outboards for a while. I have a really bad back (basically am on a daily diet of multiple pain killers to keep it manageable) so trying to get down into the Engine Compartment of my Velocity was hurting me. So now I can stand next to the boat and service the motors when needed. Plus I can get into some really shallow sand bar areas now, that I couldn't before. All around this is a better boat for our needs and it still will hit 63-65 on the GPS (about 10 MPH slower than the Velocity) when needed. Plus my Fuel usage should come down quite a bit. Have talked with a few Concept owners with Opti's and they get around 4-5 MPG at cruise speed. My Velocity only saw about 2-2.5 MPG.

Thanks Matt. I tried to PM you before I bought it but your Box was full. So I went on the G8board forum and sent you a PM there.... Oh well. I was just wondering what motors you had on your Concept. I think you have Optis as well??? But I think yours are older??

That's a very nice boat. It should handle the Erie chop better than the Velocity.

Well it helped in the fact I probably got it cheaper. I wasn't in a panic to get a boat because I was missing the spring/summer weather..... It does suck because the Velocity is still sitting in my space at the rack storage facility and I am still paying the storage fee..... While it was fun buying something new (in the winter).... But now it seems everyday drags on and on........ I did have a zipper door put on the shrink wrap, so I can throw a heater in there and take care of some work before the weather breaks. I have to cut out a spot in the cuddy for the port-a-potty (this boat was ordered without it), I want to redo the dash panel and a few other little projects.
