I'm looking at another boat and the guy claims it has brand new (2011) GM. 502 create engines in it. But from his pictures of the boat,s engines they have block mounted fuel pumps. From what I remember the 502's did not have the fuel pump boss for a block mounted mechanical pump. I'm going down today to look at it and get the casting and ser. no. to know for sure.

The new one's for Marine now have a Mechanical Fuel pump Boss on them. I don't know the change over date, but Gen VI in the last year or so.

Ask him for the receipt on those motors if you can. Make sure they are Marine crate and not Automotive. They do make 502 auto crate engines.

The latest gm 502 casting has a mechanical fuel pump boss. 2011 is about when they came to market.
