Default For anyone that shops at ABT electronics or is considering Bosch appliances.

This may be posted in the wrong section but i figured since its a regional store this would be best posted here....if not let me know to have it moved. Anyway....

We purchased a complete Bosch appliance set for our kitchen re-model, a French-door fridge with freezer on bottom, Electric oven, Microwave, and dishwasher all in stainless, this was back in early 2012ish.. After installing all the appliance's we went back to the store to buy a stainless cleaner figuring they would know best as to what to use. They sold us what they had in the store (Bayes premium stainless cleaner) and they still continue to sell it by the way. In the beginning we cleaned the fridge weekly....but life gets in the way and soon it was every other week or so. Basically when i noticed paw prints on the fridge it was cleaned....and i don't think of myself as OCD as far as keeping the house clean...but we do always get "wow this place is really clean!" anytime we have guests come over to visit. Anyway i started to notice discoloration on the stainless...and it wasn't just on the fridge...it was also on the dish washer and the oven. And it wasn't just in the so called splash zones where you would expect to get hit from spilled liquids etc. it was all over in random spots. IT WAS RUST!!! At this point we were just outside the 1yr mark and went to the store to talk to the customer service dept. I showed them pictures i took on my phone and the techs were very surprised. First thing they ask is if we used anything with ammonia.....NOPE only what YOU sold us i told them. So their only answer was to call Bosh direct since it was technically outside the warranty period. So i called Bosh and they asked the same question....i told them what we were using and they look it up only to tell me it has an alcohol in it and is NOT recommended for stainless cleaning!!! I go back to ABT with this information but they as of this posting have still not bothered to do anything about it. And they still continue to sell the cleaner in the store! So basically once they have your money or unless you are calling to have service work done on YOUR dime, they could care less about their customers....sad since i have been shopping there for close to 20yrs now....and my brother even worked for them at one point.....no more money from me, my family, or any of my friends....
And as for Bosch...its obvious they are using cheap grade stainless if its rusting....when talking to the Bosch rep i asked what grade of stainless it is...he said 316L....i called BS as i work with 316 stainless here at work and i can throw it outside in the weather and it wont rust......i told him the entire reason we got stainless was because of the nice look to it and that stainless DOESN'T RUST! And for the record i know that you CAN get stainless to rust but you have to either have a raw casting of stainless that hasn't been passivated or re-worked in anyway or you need to introduce an iron particle to it for the cancer to start...neither of which is the case here.
So just a heads up for the locals who I'm sure more then a few of you know about this place and I'm sure most everyone has heard of Bosch...

Keep the pressure on ABT. I guess I am surprised to hear that they did nothing for you. Keep complaining and eventually they will do something to make you go away. At the minimum they should get you the stainless panels to replace the rusty ones with.

Funny thing is this all started when i went into the store to ask if they had a different color option for them. We were so fed up dealing with the rust at this point i just wanted to change the doors out to black....but that's not an option for these units then they asked why i wanted to change and that's when i showed them the rust and it all started....after my last email to two of their inside people (one was a customer service rep and the other was someone i contacted as to why my review of their items wasn't being posted on their website ) i explained exactly what i posted above...they can go suck it at this point If it weren't for the fact these damn things cost so much i would load them all up one at a time in the back of my truck and dump it on their front door steps on a Saturday mid-day when they are most busy!!!
And the model we bought (fridge wise) was the Vita Fresh french door bottom freezer. B26FT70SNS
I actually have NO COMPLAINTS about the operation of any of the appliances...the fridge works awesome....great tasting ice with the built in filter...the dishwasher you cant even tell when it on...even in the dead of night!! The microwave seems to heat way more powerfully then the old unit we had. And the electric oven i have no complaints about either...just this darn rusting!!

Try a product called ZUD, I believe you can get at Home Depot or Ace...go with the grain pattern if you use it...it should remove the rust discoloration...

Good luck if you ever need any service on BOSH. My company used to do tons of appliance repairs , never on Bosh or LG etc because they have a monopoly on parts and are very difficult to service. So now you`re stuck with only a few service providers... Maytag, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, stick to domestic brands and stay away from over computerized fancy models cause in the end a washers washes clothes like it did 40 years ago without (2) $300 pcms.
