Default Dual Ram Hydraulic Steering

Installing dual ram external steering on my boat. When running lines from the port side ram to the starboard side ram, inside the boat! how are you running your lines? Under the inner transom plate or over the inner transom plate? Pics wouldbe great.

I dont have any pictures, but the lines are generally run under the transom plate.

Mine are over the plate. If I was to install them I would probably run them over cause it would make it easier to work on. But I guess the setup on the boat would ultimately dictate.

Mine run over the transom plates, I think it allows you to sort of tuck them up out of the way!

It generally depends on the set up. I have done several installs and always ran them across the top. I try to keep as many holes as I can above the water line. When you run them across the top get them up as high as possible and you wont see them when the hatch is opened. Makes for a cleaner looking install.

Thanks for all the advice. Also on the Imco instructions they show a recirculating tank. Is that necessary on a dual ram set up?

That's what the power steering pump tank is for!

If you look at the diagram in their catalog they have the pump, tank feeding the pump and a recirculating tank. That is why I asked the question.
