I just picked up a set (2) of volvo presto lite small block chevy marine distrubiters with the pertronics pick ups in them

Will these work on a big block mercruiser application as in a drop in to replace point distrubitor set up like for a 330 or 425 hp?

If not I think I may need to sell them off (hoping for the best here)

yes the small block and big blocks(other that tall decks) use the same dist.

there is something to be said for points, though. ever try to clean and regap an electronic dist when it quits in the middle of the ocean? or lake Michigan in your case.

Screw that, Just carry a spare unit, Once you have the pickup installed it's a five minute job and they're only like $25. I run them in both my old boats, got tired of messing with those points.

Im keeping the points in a box....thats the plan for just in case
