We know, 45 mph isn't very fast on the water, but for a car that also can do 80 mph on the highway...it ain't bad. Check out the WaterCar, which recently completed a 30-mile Pacific Ocean crossing to Catalina Island.

I would love to own one, the miles I have racked up visiting friends that are half a mile away by water and 20 minutes, 15 miles away by land.

It would be awesome especially in our few non-boating months
