The subject has been covered before but still no clear answers... Late 90's had blistering problems... Why and what years are affected the most. Some say the problem was solved starting 2001?

My 97 had them where it sat on the bunks..that was a huge pain in the ass to repair!

I believe any boat if left in the water long term without bottom paint, will have blisters. Gel coat is porous, not 100% water proof.

I hope my reply to your PM helps you in your quest for a larger Baja model that will be as good as the 232, and 25 Outlaw. Like I said in the PM, if the boat has a blister issue it probably will have been corrected under the Baja warranty in the past, or currently have blisters that occured in the time period from the late 90s until now. If you keep the new boat on a lift as you do with the 232 you should not have a problem. The blister issue was a fight between gelcoat, resin, and equipment suppliers that not only supplied Baja but other boat manufactures as well. I don't think there is a clear cut answer that you are looking for on the subject, but I could be wrong too.

One boater in the marina years ago had one where the CSM that was supposed to be under the gel to prevent print through was exposed and wicked water - not pretty as the boat stayed in the water.....

I've seen boats just from sitting outside get blisters from where the moisture sits in the bunk carpet on the trailer.
