So I'm thinking about redoing the engine bay on the Eliminator in colored diamond plate (tread plate) because it has got to be a lot easier than removing all of the splatter that eliminator likes to use in their engine bays. I had some purple diamond plate lining the bay on my scarab 33avs, but can't seem to find the stuff online anywhere. Anybody know of a supplier for this?
I haven't locked in a color yet, but purple, orange, red? something to compliment the orange/purple/red boat and go with the Blue 575sci engines.
Alot of other high end boat builders use it as well, but I think that they might paint it to match????

Yep paint or powder are the only realistic options. I agree with 502ss powder coat is the way to go.

Powdercoating is the way to go if use diamond plate.

If you decide to have it painted, any good paint shop should be able to handle it. Use a good self-etching primer that will stick real good to the aluminum. Might not be a bad idea to use a scuff pad on it too to give the paint something to bite into. Neat thing about painting it is that you could go with several colors and get an exact match to your colors on the boat. In fact, you could have someone echo the actual graphics inside the engine bay. Just use a clear coat over it - the new base/clears are pretty durable, and it won't get very hot in there.

Thanks for all the input guys........Griff if I paint over the splatter, I'll still see the raised splatter through the glossy white paint, and I think would kill the pristine look I'm after.
