I would like to put a ladder on my 27 Fever, I was hoping to do it without having any hardware on top of the swimplatform. Can it be done, would it be sturdy?anyone willing to show some pics?

Often wondered the same although an innovative young lady looped a rope through the rear cleat to make a stirrup in effect, actually worked very well

My 27 had one of those rope steps. Proved to be more of a hassle though, Maybe it shoulda been longer. I just found it easiest to step on the drive and not mess with raising/lowering a ladder. Don't even use the ladder on the cruiser. Drives work just as good there too.

You can do a search in the Fountain forum and see where some mounted the spring loaded ones that mount underneath. They seemed to like them.

I have the same setup on my 27 Fever. It it great! I would recomend it to anyone looking for a nice ladder with a concealed look.

How did you anchor the brackets? I would guess you had to use some pretty big lag bolts to support the weight of someone climbing up on the ladder. Make sure it is sealed up real well, ad I would assume that swim step has a wood core. Is there any access to the back side of it to use carraige bolts instead?

I had someone fabricate a set of brackets from stainless to support a telescoping ladder that slides and drops down. Works well, although if I did it over I would get one more step on the ladder.

Auqaperformance provides a type of toggle anchors for mounting, the step is hollow and impossible to reach back into.only thing I would do differantly is go with the stainless finish, white catches any soot or water nasties.was VERY nervous when putting full weight on the ladder for the fist time, but after several years and larger people than myself, no problems whatsoever.
