Default Mercedes AMG Partnership Produces Another Aquatic Rocket

This is a departure what you normally find on speedonthewater.com, but the video is amazing and well worth watching, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...aquatic-rocket.

Looks like Cigarette Racing Team isn't the only "aquatic outfit" working with Mercedes-Benz AMG.

Ballz.

Cool vid, Matt. I'm curious how well a board built with the technology of that one really compares to what he normally uses.

Every time I've ever heard Garrett talk it cracks me up that even a middle aged man still sounds like your typical California stoner surfer . At 46 you would think theres not a lot of big wave riding in his future but the board is just sexy . And yea I would love to hear a comparison on the first 50K AMG board made next to the ones normally used that were built by shapers that have been doing it for many years and usually costing less then 4K .

On some other design forums there is discussion of the board-wetsuit telemetry system. Pretty cool.

One thing from the video that I don't believe is "standard" in big-wave tow-in surfboard manufacturing is wind-tunnel testing, which was used to create this board.

With one small correction: He's straight outta Hawaii with that "pigeon English" accent. Listen closely, it's more guttural than California surf-dude speak.
