Looking at a new 28' cat and I want something capable of 150+. Eliminators newer 28 speedster is probably top of my list right now. What is everyone's thoughts/comments/concerns on their 28?? Thanks in advance!

I am a huge fan of the 28 Speedster. Great fast bottom that does not get crazy or weird. Eliminator has really taken their stuff to a whole new level.

I like the DCB's and the new M29 is bitten for sure. But for me personally the price does not justify the difference between the two brands now. Awhile ago when DCB was a little cheaper and they were much nicer than the rigging of the Eliminator it was a harder choice. But today in my opinion I would go with the 28 Speedster.

Again just my opinion. I really like the guys at DCB and would own one in a heartbeat but the 28 Eliminator is one amazing boat and great value. Cost no object I would go with the new OL 30 Cat and figure out how to get LSX motors. But when you look at value the 28 Speedster is hard to beat. I think its the perfect lake boat with great rigging and super legit performance. Plus the guys at Eliminator are top notch so you won't go wrong there.

All i can say is be carefull with the speed you want to acheive on a 28 ft. Those are speeds for 32 ft plus. Unfortunatelywe just lost another great talented and experience friend trying to attempt that. Stay safe and welcome to OSO.

I think you better talk to Thane @ Nordic I just put a new order in on a 28ss cat , there fit & finish , gel work , ect is top notch . they build EVERYTHING but trailers & engines in house .

150+ mph in a 28' cat is a BAD idea, real bad idea, unless you want to be fish food. Good luck getting insurance on that also!

there are such cool boats that fit that under 30' requirement.....

Single engine will take 1350 HP and a 6 drive to do it, there are examples of both DCB (F29 and M29) and Nordic 28SS whom have a proven single engine package to get real close to or exceed 150. That said I am sure with like HP the Eliminator 28 would perform the same, I just have not heard about a big HP single engine 28 Speedster build

Twin engine DCB (F29 and M29) and Eliminator 28 Speedster are the 2 horses in that race. Both are beautiful and very capable boats. If speed is your key driver nod probably goes to Eliminator, they can get to your goal with less HP.

Like others said, insurance will be real interesting to find in a small boat with this kind of capability. I have learned that anything can be insured, but this much I can promise the boat you are looking for will be over $10k a year to insure if you have clean catamaran history and a good relationship with the provider. If no prior experience then good luck......
