Anybody have any info on places to boat around Memphis? Looks like I'm going to be working there for about a year and I'd like to take my boat with me if there's some good boating in the area. I know the Mississippi River is right there but I'm not sure if the boating is as good there as it is just north of St. Louis where I go a lot. If not i'll be leaving the boat at Kentucky lake and driving up there most weekends. Thanks!

Ben, I know quite a few folks who live in Memphis and boat on a lake in central AR called Greers Ferry. It's about a 2.5 hour drive, but the lake is pristine! I have also heard a few who frequent Pickwick, not sure where it is though. Good luck!

Ben, I am from Memphis and we go to pickwick Tn every weekend. its about an hour and half or so east of Memphis. Its where Pier 57 was before it got bought and most everything went to Illinois with the new owner, but still a ton of boats are there including a few go fast boats. There is a lot of skiing and surfing going on the Tombigbee waterway. Don't know what you are into but pickwick has every type of boating you can handle.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll be checking Pickwick out! I like anything that goes fast and sounds good doing it. I'm going to be working on the new Bass Pro store going up at the pyramid stadium.
