max rpm on 502??

Default max rpm on 502??

Im trying to get a cam for my mildly modded 502. The bottom end is all stock , what is the max i can turn it to?

unless its an old Tbolt IV ignition you'l hit the rev limiter ~ 5000/5100

The Issue will be valve train, not bottom end. Bottom will turn 6500 with no problems, I turned a mild 502 mag 6000 in my previous boat. just be sure you have the correct 'combination' of cam, springs, lifters for the rpms you are after.

Gen 4 motors with the T-bolt ign. have no rev limiter...The Gen V has a rev limiter.

Just a thought.

I had mine programmed to 5400

Thanks guys.. according to the guys at nickersons , the roller setup they suggest will run 590 hp at 5600. Looks like i have a winter project.
