Sea Rover 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 9
Vince Lazzara, an early pioneer in fiber glass boat construction, owned Columbia Yachts. He sold this company in 67. Due to terms of the sale contract he was prevented from building power/sailboats for 3 years.
Three months later he started a houseboat company selling SeaRover - "all fiberglass houseboats" - Sea Rover (part of Bosworth Marine)was sold to Apeco, 2 & ½ years later, Apeco folded shortly after the sale and Lazzara resold the molds/tooling for the Sea Rover line to Holiday Mansion, which still builds houseboats. Holiday Mansion has been sold 2 or 3 times.
Side note: Vince Lazzara's brother owned KingsCraft, in Florence Alabama, when it went out of business.
