Cool Sunsation website forum-Please read

The forum at www.sunsatioboats.com is currently being worked on to improve user interaction. Please bear with us while some things are changing. I know the old forum was a great resource, but unfortunately it had to be removed due to constant hacking. If you go to the new forum we will do our best to answer questions and help out. We just need more people posting on there to build it back up again. Happy boating!

Thanks,

Jeff - Purchasing Manager

Not a very good move in regards to being "social". Maybe I speak for only myself but the "family" experience of owning a sunsation has been all but taken away from the internet landscape.

Have you checked the activity on the Sunny forum lately? Crickets. I can see why they would abandon it.

I can't blame Sunsation. Speaking from experience, it's a giant PITA to maintain a forum. The technical aspects of such are easy.
The interpersonal aspects of babysitting a few thousand "adults" is the hard part. Such is the first reason Schuble sold this site to IB. It sure as hell does not increase the bottom line.

Best thing to do is maintain a presence on the bigger forums, and the company Facebook page. That's how we keep in contact with the AT customer base.

Looks like within a matter of minutes it went from "we are doing away with the forum" to "we are implementing a new forum".

The new Sunsation website itself is very nice IMO but the forum is very difficult to master. I have made several unsuccessful attempts to post photos. There are common items such as "edit" and "quote" that are missing. I don't think it is lack of interest, I do think it is just too difficult and different comapired to other forums... I've been off work for the last two weeks recovering from cervical fusion sugery and one of my goals during my down time was to master the new froum... I'm ready to give up... I don't do the Facebook thing but that may be easier to master than the current Sunsation forums...

As Jeff said, we are making upgrades to the Sunsation Forums to make it a more enjoyable experience for our users.

We appreciate everyone's feedback as they participate in the forums.

Scagburner,

The ability to edit your posts and quote other posts have now been implemented.

I believe the issue with picture uploads is that the forums currently have a 1MB file size limit on individual uploads.

If you attempt to upload an image larger than 1MB, you will receive an error.

We are currently working to improve everyone's experience on the Sunsation forums, so let us know what you would like to see added or modified.

Post your and/or questions in the "Sunsation Community Help" section of the forums here:

Great - Thanks! Now I can go back thru and fix my typos. I'll resize some photos and give it another try later.

Thanks,

My guess is it won't recover at this point since people have already modified their behavior and apparently have abandoned the site, which likely took place during the period the site was down completely. And it sure didn't help that folks browsers gave them warning messages that the site had a virus on it and warned against going to it. Personally I think all would be better served if the factory made a presence on the Sunsation forum on this site, as AT, Nor-Tech and others do. But time will tell.

I think it will get there again once it's easy to use and reliable again. It will take time though.
