My new to me VR 1 is at the engine builders and will be water tested shortly. I have been asked what trim setting it likes but as I had only driven it once before purchasing it I couldn't answer. I have an email in to Kenny but wondered what opinions and experience the forum VR 1 people might have.
Thanks,

These hulls like to run on the back of the pad with their nose up a bit. On my 290SC, I have the drive trimmed out 2 or 3 points past vertical for speeds above 60 with a Hydro P5X prop with prop shaft depth 3-1/4" below the hull. I know my boat nose is heavier, so hopefully some VR people will chime in...

I will agree that Velocity's really like to run on their pads. I know you are asking about the VR1 as I have the 280 / year model 2000. I asked Kenny about the bottom difference about 3 years ago from the 29 SC to VR1 29 to 280. He said not much but did not go into any other details. Anyways my 280 you can trim very high and it seems to like it. Running a stock 454 HO MAG 385 hp / Bravo I performance drive. Lenco sport tabs (already installed when I bought it) Bravo I 26 pitch NON LABBED. I have seen 70 mph on the GPS a few times but rare & very lightly loaded.
