Default Best oil for dry sixes with big power? (Not torco...)

Have heard that the heavier oils hold up better in high hp applications than the light weight oils.

Changed mine this weekend. Move away from Torco to Mercury Racing Gear Lube. See bulletin below:

Our all-new gear lube replaces a synthetic lube previously used on our high end surface drives. It is used in all gearcases built at Mercury Racing. Outboard gearcases include Fleet Master, Torque Master and Sport Master, IV SSM and VI SSM. Sterndrive gearcases include the dry-sump NXT1, NXT6 and M8 as well as Bravo One XR Sport Masters.

Because it's a very thin/lightweight oil and the thicker/heavier oils seem to hold up better when running behind the big HP engines.

I run NEO synthetic oil 75W90/RHD marine gear lube. I know it works because it comes out close to the same color as it went in. Although I am not running #6 drives, I have XR's with big power. I would burn up any other gear oil. Even at 75/90, I can easily spin a prop by hand a few rotations.
