Hi Guys
I am looking at a 2000 Chaparral 285SSI, With twin 350 Mag EfI Mercruiser Bravo 3
I am looking for any info regarding this boat, Quality, speed , etc.

From the picture it appears the boat does not have the extended platform on it. You will want the extended platform as the built-in platform is quite high off the waterline. swimplatforms.com does make a platform for this boat if it does not have the factory platform. http://swimplatforms.com/Chaparral_2...m_Platform.htm
As for build quality for that time period Chap I would give it a B-. I own a 2004 260 SSi I bought new and the overall construction of the boat is solid enough and nothing has broke, cracked, fallen off, etc. The biggest issue I have with mine is just overall fit and finish and quality control. Many misaligned parts such as the bow seat cushion hinges not being properly aligned and sticking out too far, the anchor locker lid hinges being installed at different heights, securing latches on the head and windblock doors are crooked, resin and sealant were spilled on the non-slip in the cockpit and not cleaned up, etc..
I would think speed with that combo would be upper 50's.
