Ok I have to ask. I just purchased cavitation plates for my 2" shorties. They want you to specify LH or RH rotation. There is a pickup hole in the plates. Does the rotation of prop in conjunction with the side the pick up is on matter? I currently have standard bravo 1 lowers with drive showers. Props spin in and both pickup tubes are on the left side of the cavitation plate. My port drive produces heat and if I have too much fluid in reservoir it pushes it out. The starboard drive does fine. Would I have better water flow if the pickup were on the other side?

For RH prop (spinning clockwise), pickup should be on left side of the plate. LH prop (spinning counter-clockwise), pickup should be on right side of plate. Also, if you have shorties, you might want to check out how long your pickups are, if they are shorter than an inch, you may not be getting enough flow.. I have short sportmasters and my pickups are 1 3/8" deep..
