Default 30-33ft Eliminator Daytona in the ocean...

I've seen a few Daytona's in Florida poker run pictures (not sure what size) and I've seen one 33 here in person run to Catalina Island. I'm aware that they are primarily for lakes but would you feel comfortable running it offshore occasionally? Does anyone here have any experience? Pics or video? Thanks so much...

you have to pick your days with that one. A friend of mine has a 33 w/6's and 800's and runs pretty good in a little wind swept chop but its no wave crusher by far.

Agree- you need to pick your days.I had a 34Eagle v bottom that I had to choose my days with-sometimes you pick what you think is a good day only to be fooled by Mother Nature.

Like the above mentioned, you need to pick your days. I had a 36' Daytona, fun to drive, didn't like it in turns so much, tended to lean outside in a turn, felt like it was gonna roll but overall a pretty good ride and fun. I ran to Catalina one day and came back in the afternoon in the summer, got into the middle of the channel and the swells picked up pretty good, caught a lot of air, had a lot of hang time to reflect... Long story short, bought my first Cigarette, a 42' Tiger a few days later and been with the brand since. Pick your days...

I had a 33 Daytona with big power and my thoughts are the same as all others, on a nice flat day would be fine but watch that afternoon return home from Catalina, it can get brutal and conditions are always worse comparing morning to afternoon as well going into swells vs backside.

What year 33 are you looking at? All pre 2000/01 have some handling challenges like turning outside lean and porpoise after 80 MPH. The newer 33's have a great bottom that works very well. All that said, I got caught on a bad day once at Mead in mine and we got the crap beat out of us and could not get on top of it..... The 33 is no wave crusher by any means.
