I would like to replace the idle air arrestor on my 525EFI. Mercury Racing shows part #841168T for $135. Really? There must be a K&N crossover part number for this item. Anyone have an option?

not if K&N makes it for merc they wont sell one that they make for someone else. I tried on the filter for mine which has a K&N in It but is made for the company that makes my air cleaner housing and K&N said nope. go to the place my housing came from they will not sell behind their customers back.

I understand what K&N will not do. They have to protect their customer, Mercury, not me. With that said, somebody out there has figured out that K&N Part number "X" is the same as Mercury Part # "X".
I tend to buy good stuff. However, when there is a possibility of finding the same exact item at a significantly lower price, I'm all over it.

Have you looked thru their crankcase breather listings to match one up ?

SB, thank you very much!
I printed out the K&N crankcase breather list and took it with me to the boat to match up. I found that Mercury Racing Part# 841168T for $135 is the same as K&N Part #62-1370. Ordered from Jegs for $19.99 with free shipping. Installed no problem!

Glad it worked out for you.
And that you followed up on the thread so if anyone is looking for the info they can get the outcome.
Hate when people on forums asking for things - especially diagnostics, and never come back to report what solved the problem.
