Default Steel Trailer in Saltwater sell or options

I hope you guys can help.

I just purchased a Formula 252 that has a steel trailer. The boat was a freshwater boat and trailer was not used, the boat was kept on a lift. I now have the boat and trailer and will use it in Saltwater.

Should I keep the trailer and try to make it last as much as possible or get rid or it and get an aluminum trailer now. The trailer is in good shape.

What are you thoughts or recommendations

Thanks

Have you brought it to Florida yet?
Your best bet is to try and sell it in the midwest or wherever it's at.

You will not sell a steel trailer for any kind of good money in Florida.

You ABSOLUTELY want an aluminum trailer.

If the trailer is old you aren't going to get much for it anyway. If that is the case, use it for a year or two then scrap it. With a new boat, summer approaching Im sure you would rather spend money/time on the boat rather than buying a new $5000 trailer!

I going to give some rust encapsulation a try. Maybe I can get it to hold me over for a while. I plan on hosing the hell out of it.

Trailer is a perfect fit or the boat so it's a shame.

I guess I will be looking for a good deal on a trailer from now

Does anyone have any advice on looking for a used trailer?

You can buy an owens & sons for about 4500-5500 new. Quality trailer. Spend the money- you will thank your self later.

Manning will give you a trade in for it and build you a new one. My buddy did that on a 32 Fountain trailer.

The traile is a box frame. Would the galviniz get inside the box frame? Also the link did not work and is this down in florida?

Pwraddr,
Is manning in florida ?

Thanks for the ideas guys.

No, in Michigan. I think many would say Manning is second only to Myco.
