i am replacing a set of eddie marine manifolds with a set of gills, the engine is a gen6 with edelbrock performer rpm heads.the problem i am having is on the port side the alternater is hitting the manifold.im sure i am not the first guy that has ran into this problem.it looks like i either need an alt with a smaller diameter or need a different bracket to relocate the alt&power steering pump.anybody got the fix for this problem?i forgot to mention the boat is a 1991 sunsation 24-7.

I run a 35 Lightning w/ Eddie Marine Thunder Exh., I just took mine off and had rebuilt and they fit up great, I have about 1 to 1 1/2 inch of clearance with them adjusted tight, will a shorter belt help, or will it not bolt on at all,
