Default Just purchased our first Fountain and now we're back into the boating lifestyle!!

Well after selling our boat and moving to South Florida (Vero Beach) from Kentucky two years ago we have been missing being out on the water. So after looking and looking and looking and not finding anything that was up to our specs we were finally able to locate a boat that met every requirement. So yesterday we purchased a 29 Fever from a owner that had taken very good care of the boat. For years I had my sights set on a Nordic, but after looking at the Fountains we both fell in love with them and the fact that they are set up for the ocean and rough water.

The boat is a 2000 Fountain 29 Fever with a 510 cubic inch big block with 600 hp via supplied dyno sheets. Engine has 130 hours on it and the boat has 300 hours. The previous owner installed a Bravo XR drive last year which is a plus. Three different props came with the boat with one being a labbed prop. All the gauges are Livorsi Carbon Series and really look nice on the new anodized dash.

As always there's a few things that need some attention like a trim cable that's started to separate and the cabin door is cracked on one side. However, we are very pleased with the condition and are in love with our new Fountain.

Having never boated in the salt water, never owning a Fountain and not use to the required upkeep due to the salt I will be asking a lot of questions and advice on various things from the fellow Fountain owners. We also hope that we can meet some Fountain owners from South Florida that wouldn't mind showing some Florida newbies the water ways.

Here are some pics of the new boat.

Congrats on your new boat. Being in salt water, probably the most important thing is to flush the motor with fresh water after EVERY use..

Thanks for the kind words!!

Having been out of the boating game for a while I'm not up to speed on the best cleaning and maintenance products on the market. What's the best out there for the interior and the outside of the boat? Anyone use the Boat Candy products?

As far as salt removal from the engine and drive anyone have any experience with the Salt-Away products? Seems easy with just hooking up the canister to the garden hose and then running it through the engine whiles its running.

Very nice looking ride. You made a great choice in buying a Fountain. I'm on my second one and would have anything else either fishing boat or performance boat. Fountain is the only boat out there in my opinion.
