Late season engine rebuild
After breaking the lifter a week ago , I decided to just freshen the motor.
I worked on it all weekend and it is almost ready to go back together. Just waiting on parts.
Block is honed
I started doing the valve job yesterday, got all the valves ground now I have to work on the heads tonight.
Have to next day the cam out to repair the lobe
Then just wait for parts. It might be running again by the weekend , I don't know when it will go back in the boat though... I want to dyno it , so maybe a couple of weeks.

dude, you gotta pole barn over in St. Clair shores for all this work?
I got a dump truck, tree and pully if you need it ( see my email sent today)
good luck. you move fast!!!! engine out and tore down to hone cylinders already ? you should be on Jeff Burton's pit crew!! he could have used the help this weekend.
what did you decide. replace with existing setup. or go to hydraulics?

Rob,
if the rings and bearings are at the shop when I get there tonight I will have the shortblock back together ! Then tommorow I will finish the valve job.
I'm going to stay with the solid for now... no need to go slower !!
I will just replace lifters every 40 hours, It's a small price to pay to be fast !!
I'm feeling pretty good right now ... the guys gave me a quick going away party at the Silver Cricket
It's been ALONG time since I've been in one of those places ! No I remember why ... I think I fell in lust about 10 times
