Battery Question.?
#1
Just but both batteries back in the boat after charging them. They are both group 24 batteries about four years old, my question is they are both deep cell with only 500 cranking amps they seem to start fine just wondering if I should have one battery just for starting and they have about 700 cranking amps will I notice a difference?
Thanks

I went to SEMA this year and spoke to the Optima guys. They had a bad rap a few years ago, but went back to basics. I used two yellow tops to wire a limo bus. They were both rated at 875cca. I had them load tested and one was 985cca, the other 1025cca.
I don't know hat you're running, but I might toss in some Optimas in mine.

I have a 6-year old Optima Red-Top in my truck. I took it in to have it checked at Budget Battery and the gentleman said it would easily start a diesel.
I'll put Yellows in my boat when it is time for new batteries.
